Phillip Jackson Documentary

The founder of The Black Star Project, Phillip Jackson, was a successful corporate executive and manager who turned a passion for activism and an empathy for the struggles of black people into an internationally known non-profit organization that over its 25-years of existence has rallied hundreds of thousands of people around confronting the educational and economic inequities impacting our communities. This year, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the founding of The Black Star Project, we are developing a documentary film on the life and work of Phillip Jackson focused on his organizing processes and philosophies and how he was able to rally citizens across the country and internationally around the mantra Educate Or Die. The documentary is being developed and created by an in-house team of creative young people working with the Black Star Project and supported by youth filmmakers and professionals from The Community TV Network, an organization that trains youth in video production.
