Phillip Jackson Youth Mentorship Program (PJYMP): Spring Registration Now Open

The Phillip Jackson Youth Mentorship Program, or PJYMP is a new community-based program in partnership with The Civic Knowledge Project and University of Chicago Black Grad Coalition.

For 7-10 weeks each quarter, a cohort of approximately 10-15 middle school and high school students from the South and West sides of Chicago come together to participate in a program centering opportunities for personal growth, community engagement, and leadership development.

Participants are matched with a mentor of color from UChicago and, together, they meet weekly to hear presentations from local leaders, educators, and activists. In addition, they attend regular civic excursions--visiting organizations and historical sites that have been integral to the support, growth, and advancement of the Black community in Chicago.
